He is the Founder and CEO of Future H2O-B, a private-sector water consultancy that helps companies, investors, and NGOs develop science-based strategies to address water risk, resilience, and sustainability across global supply chains and watersheds.
Through Future H2O-B, John serves as TCB's scientific partner on Aqua Intelligence — contributing the watershed science, risk methodology, and industry expertise that sits beneath the platform's 0–5 composite scoring model. His advisory work spans corporate water stewardship, natural infrastructure, and climate adaptation for corporate and philanthropic clients worldwide.
John also serves as Executive Director of the ByWater Institute for Climate Adaptation and as a Professor at Tulane University, where his research addresses water resource management, ecological resilience, and the intersection of hydrology and climate risk. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
